The identification and understanding of flows, stocks of materials and their mapping requires increasingly precise and transparent management. Taking water as an example of a resource, cities can harness the potential of water reuse to address water scarcity and drought. At the same time, the use of resources by the public administration must take into account, in addition to qualitative, performance and economic parameters, also aspects of sustainability.

The working group on urban resource management involves public bodies, companies providing public services, business, trade and professional associations, trade unions, individual companies and environmental and third sector associations, etc., in order to identify and eliminate regulatory barriers for waste management and the reuse of waste water, stimulate innovative and circular public tenders and introduce rewarding criteria on the use of materials from reuse chains in the regulations of the Municipality of Prato.
